Beautiful beaches of Tinos
One of the most popular beaches on the island is Kolibithra; it’s well-organized with sunbeds, umbrellas, water sport activities (including a surf club), cafes, tavernas, etc. However, take note that if you’re not a fan of wind and waves, it’s best to avoid the beach's left gulf, as it can get extremely windy. Οn days that are not windy, another beach of the northern part of the island worth visiting is Rochari at Panormos area.
Another brilliant option for a swim is a part of Aghios Fokas beach (the longest on the island), called Marathia. This is actually a beach-bar (and a seafood restaurant) where you can enjoy finger food, coffee, etc. while lying on the comfortable sunbeds.
The beach in Aghios Ioannis Porto also gives you the option to have a bite or your coffee at the sunbeds, taking breaks between swimming. Same goes with Kionia, the beach closest to Hora (the Town of Tinos) and one of the most popular ones. An alternative sandy organized beach would also be Aghios Sostis.
All four above beaches are considered family-friendly (organized sandy beaches, safe paddling, clear waters).
If you’re looking for quieter, less crowded beaches, then perhaps Aghios Romanos is for you, or the beach of Kalyvia. Protected from the winds, those beaches are quiet while also featuring a small beach-bar each, as well - so you can be comfortable but not surrounded by many people.
Two other choices that are really nice and quiet - and a bit more secluded (country-road parts on the way) - are Santa Margarita (small sandy beach) and Livada (unique, rocky beach with crystal clear waters). You should take into account that both get windy sometimes and that they may be a little difficult to access.
Finally, for the adventurous nature-lovers, a great choice would be the secluded, hard-to-reach beach of Apigania (fine sand-pebble/shallow waters/no natural shade/not organized). To reach the beach you should leave your car and continue for about 500 m. along a footpath.
